DESCRIPTION:
SEE SPECIAL SHIPPING NOTE at end of description. Clock - Stillman, Allen & Co, New York by Gosselin & Riddle, unusual time only ship's clock with swing out dial and movement set within a black painted solid iron case with a bronze bezel and granite base, gilt brass dial with engraved Roman numerals inset with black paint, case measures 12 inches at widest point of base x 12 inches tall from base to highest point x 6.5 inches deep, dial measures 8 inches, clock with an approximate gross weight of 30 pounds. This is quite the curious clock as no information could be found on the maker; however Stillman, Allen & Co, also known as the Novelty Iron Works, was an iron foundry that specialized in boilers for steam ships and other maritime related material, far from your typical clockmaker or jeweler.
